Established in 1937 by freedom fighter Dr. Diwan Singh Kalapani and named in his honour. It is notable for its wooden architecture built on iron pillars.
Located in Aberdeen Bazaar, on Mahatma Gandhi Road, opposite the local police station — hence the local name “Police Gurudwara”.
The structure offers a serene atmosphere, langar (free community meals), and rooms for visitors (sarai).
During the 2004 tsunami, Sikh volunteers from this Gurudwara provided vital assistance to the local community.
