This Gurudwara stands on the island of Beyt Dwarka, reachable by boat from Okha Port about 30 km from Dwarka city, on the site of the ancestral home of Bhai Mohkam Singh Ji — one of the Panj Pyare, the first five Sikhs initiated by Guru Gobind Singh Ji at Sri Anandpur Sahib. He was born here in 1663 to mother Sambhali Ji and father Bhai Jagjivan Rai, and travelled with his parents to Sri Anandpur Sahib in 1699, where he took Amrit from Guru Gobind Singh Ji and became Bhai Mohkam Singh Ji, remaining in Guru Sahib’s service until he attained martyrdom at the Battle of Chamkaur Sahib in 1705.

Long before that, Guru Nanak Dev Ji had visited this very house during his travels and stayed with Bhai Mohkam Singh Ji’s ancestors, who became his devoted followers from that day on. The site itself was rediscovered only around 1999, during celebrations marking 300 years of the Khalsa, when local Sikhs worked with the Gujarat government to locate it. Baba Lakha Singh Ji Kar Sewa Wale later had the Gurudwara built, and it remains under Kar Sewa care today.
