Gurdwara Sri Sahibzada Ajit Singh is situated in Bassi Kalan in the Hoshiarpur district.
Sahibzada Ajit Singh was leading his Jatha during this clash. Hakim Zabar Khan (a muslim pathan) was the chief of Bassi Kalan and 21 other villages of the Hoshiarpur District.
Finally in desperation, he went to the Darbar (Court) of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji at Anandpur Sahib and narrated his story to the Guru Sahib. After listening to the story Guru Gobind Singh ordered Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh to arrest Zabar Khan and to return the wife of Devi Das to her husband.
Guru Sahib send Baba Ajit Singh with 100-200 brave Singh's. At Hoshiarpur Bhai Ratan Singh helped Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji and plan the arrest and attack. In the evening Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh stormed Zabar Khan's dwelling. After a fight, Zabar Khan though wounded, was arrested and tied up. Baba Ajit Singh sent Pathan Zabar Khan and the wife of Devi Das to Anandpur with some Sikhs.
Zabar Khan was punished at Anandpur for his misdeeds. Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh cremated the martyred Singhs. Cremations of martyrs were carried out at Gurdwara Sri Shaheedan Sahib Ladhewal and Gurdwara Sri Harian Vellan Sahib. Baba Ratan Singh was also wounded and died after few days.
