A Story of Humble Service and Spiritual Strength
Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru, was known not just for his bravery but also for his humility. One day, during a camp with his Khalsa, Guru Ji saw the langar area untidy after the Sangat had eaten.
Without telling anyone, Guru Ji picked up a broom and began cleaning the area himself. Some Sikhs were shocked to see their great Guru doing such a task. They rushed to stop him.
Guru Ji smiled and said, “No one becomes smaller by doing seva. In fact, seva makes one spiritually higher.” He explained that true leadership comes from selfless service, not pride.
Seeing Guru Ji’s example, the Sikhs felt deeply moved. Everyone joined in with love and devotion. From that day on, seva was understood not just as a duty, but as a sacred blessing.
“Seva isn’t a task, it’s a way to connect with Waheguru through humility and love.”
