Joti Jot Diwas of Sri Guru Amar Das Ji

Sri Guru Amar Das Ji (1479–1574) was the Third Sikh Guru. He strengthened the institution of Guru Ka Langar, abolishing caste discrimination by requiring all visitors—including Emperor Akbar—to eat together before meeting him. He also constructed the sacred Baoli Sahib at Goindwal and composed the sacred hymn Anand Sahib.
