Gurudwara Sri Amar Das Ji Sahib stands in the Kankhal area of Haridwar, on the banks of the Ganges. Long before he was called to Guruship, Bhai Amar Das Ji would travel here year after year to bathe in the sacred river and offer his prayers, staying for extended periods in devotion.

It was only later, on hearing the hymns of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, that he became a follower of the Guru Ghar — and went on to serve the second Guru, Guru Angad Dev Ji, with unwavering humility for many years before being blessed with Guruship himself.
