Associated with - Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji, Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji

Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Karnal is associated with Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji who visited Karnal during his first udasi.

At that time, the people of Karnal were held in awe by a number of muslim Pirs who had built their reputations by conjuring miracles. The leader of the Pir's was Pir Abu Ali Shah Kalandhar.

When Guru Nanak arrived he stayed in a garden. This garden had a small mound, on which Guru Nanak sat and recited hymns (shabads).

Guru Nanak's kirtan brought a number of worshippers. The Muslim pirs did not like this and some of them went and complained to Pir Abu Ali Shah Kalandhar. Pir Abu Ali Shah was angered by what he heard and he set off to meet the Guru, sitting astride a wall.
