Gurudwara Sri Chevin Patshahi Sahib
Baramulla City, on the Jhelum  ·  Baramulla District, Jammu & Kashmir

Gurudwara Sri Chevin Patshahi Sahib stands on the bank of the River Jhelum in Baramulla city. After fulfilling the wish of the blind devotee Mai Bhag Bhari in Srinagar and meeting the Muslim saint Bahlol Shah, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji came here in the company of Emperor Jahangir. When the local people presented Jahangir with a hand-carved stone throne, the emperor in turn offered it to Guru Sahib, and helped his own followers receive Guru Sahib’s blessing.

Guru Sahib stayed for some time, sitting on that very throne to hold discourse with the sangat, and planted a chinar tree with his own hands, blessing the site so that visitors’ wishes would be fulfilled and the tree’s shade — and the place’s renown — would only grow with the years.
