Gurdwara Nanak Jhira Sahib, located in Bidar, Karnataka, is a revered Sikh pilgrimage site with deep historical and spiritual significance

Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited Bidar around 1512 during his second missionary journey and stayed on the outskirts near where the Gurudwara stands today. He compassionately responded to the locals’ plea for water during a famine

According to legend, he touched a hillside with his sandal and miraculously caused sweet, spring water to gush out. This became known as “Nanak Jhira” — Jhira meaning spring

The miraculous water emerges into the Amrit Kund, a holy tank within the Gurudwara that many believe possesses curative properties
