Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji (6th Guru) - Visited on 20th Phagun, around 1675. He arrived with seven cannons, 1,100 horsemen, and Chandu Qaidi—who played a role in Guru Arjan’s martyrdom. He rested here and tied his horse to a “Ber” tree, lending the site the name “Damdama Sahib”

Guru Gobind Singh Ji (10th Guru) - Passed through in 1705 (Poh 11, 1761 Bikrami) disguised as Uchh Da Pir, accompanied by Bhai Daya Singh, Dharam Singh, Maan Singh, and Muslim brothers Ghani and Nabi Khan. This spot marks his first meal after leaving Machhiwara, where he distributed “Deg” (sacred food) and thus named the place Degsar Sahib. Devotees believe that offerings made here fulfill sincere wishes

In 1854, British engineers planned to reroute the Sirhind Canal, which would have led to the removal of the sacred Ber tree under which Guru Hargobind had rested. According to tradition, the engineer Smith was blinded upon striking the tree. After making a symbolic offering of ₹51, he regained his sight. The canal route was then redirected to preserve the Gurdwara. The tree still stands today in the complex
