Associated with - Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
Gharuan is a village located about 7 km's from Morinda on the route from Morinda to Chandigarh.
Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji visited Gharuan while travelling to Kiratpur Sahib. The Sangat asked Guru Ji to stay. Accepting the Sangats request, Guru Har Rai stayed for some time at the location of Gurdwara Sri Deg Sahib.
The Sangat served Guru Ji with great respect and as it was Summer the Sangat would serve Guru Ji with shardai. Guru Ji would hold regular diwans and teach the villagers about Sikhism. Several people accepted his teachings, establishing a dharamshala in the village. Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji would rest in the Bhora Sahib which is located in the basement of Gurdwara Sri Deg Sahib.
Later Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji visited Gharuan for 10 days during the month of Jeth (mid May to mid June) while on his way to Delhi in 1675. Guru Tegh Bahadur first went to the place inside the village commemorating the visit of Guru Har Rai, but not recognizing him, the priests treated him with indifference. Guru Tegh Bahadur moved to a quiet groove located near the village pond about 300 metres north of the village.
