Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji visited this location to meet Bhai Surmukh Sikh.
While travelling to Delhi, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji stopped at Karhali in July 1673. Guru Hargobind was riding with 100 Sikh horse riders.
Guru Ji and the Sikhs stopped by the small mud hut of a person named Surmukh. Surmukh, who became Bhai Surmukh Sikh, was infected with a contagious disease and made to live outside the village Karhali for fear of infecting others.
No-one wanted to be near Bhai Surmukh Sikh and people would aviod him. Only a few kind hearted people would provide him with food.
