Gurudwara Sri Pakki Sangat Sahib stands in Mohalla Aihiyapur in Allahabad, now Prayagraj, close to where the Triveni Sangam once flowed nearby. Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji came here with Mata Gujri Ji, Mata Nanaki Ji, Mama Kirpal Das Ji and other followers, and at the local sangat’s request stayed almost six months. It was here that Mata Nanaki Ji, wife of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and mother of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, was assured by Guru Sahib that her long-held wish for a valiant grandson was soon to be fulfilled.

When Guru Sahib asked everyone to bathe in the Ganga, and Mata Nanaki Ji was too frail from age to travel there, Guru Sahib arranged for the Ganga to flow into the well within the compound instead. It was here, too, that the first Akhand Path Sahib, the continuous reading of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, was begun by five Sikhs — Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, Bhai Dyala Ji, Bhai Gurbaksha and Baba Gurditta Ji — and that Guru Gobind Singh Ji was conceived by Mata Gujri Ji. Many personal belongings of the Gurus are preserved here, and Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself later stayed five days at this site on his way back to Punjab from Patna Sahib.
