Gurudwara Sri Guru Ka Lahore Sahib
Village Basantpur, Bilaspur District  ·  Himachal Pradesh

Gurudwara Sri Guru Ka Lahore Sahib stands in Basantpur village, Bilaspur district, marking a remarkable episode from Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s life. When Bhai Hari Jas Ji, father of Mata Jito Ji, came to Chak Nanaki (Sri Anandpur Sahib) to arrange the wedding — an engagement made years earlier during Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s lifetime — the elders would not agree to the wedding party travelling all the way to Lahore.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji proposed instead that a little Lahore be built here, so Mata Jito Ji’s family could come to Basantpur and the marriage take place close to home. A small township resembling the nine bazaars of Lahore was raised at the site, and it was here that Guru Sahib’s wedding was solemnised.
