Gurudwara Sri Badi Sangat Patshahi Dasvin Sahib stands in Burhanpur city, Madhya Pradesh. Guru Gobind Singh Ji halted here while travelling towards Nanded in the company of Emperor Bahadur Shah, having come via Agra, Chittorgarh, and Ujjain. An elderly ascetic named Jeevan Das had long lived on the bank of the Tapti here; he had once accompanied Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji to Assam, and on hearing that his beloved Guru Gobind Singh Ji had arrived, he ran barefoot to meet him — and Guru Sahib, recognising his devoted disciple, rose from his own seat to receive him.

The sangat of Burhanpur, astonished to see Guru Sahib rise for a wandering jogi, realised they were witnessing something extraordinary. Guru Sahib freed Jeevan Das from the cycle of birth and death and stayed on for some time before Bahadur Shah continued to Nagpur and Guru Sahib moved on towards Nanded Sahib. An old saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji bearing Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s own stamp is preserved here, and the sangat may still have darshan of this Beed Sahib on Sangrand and Gurpurab days.
