Did we ever say “Oh God! Why me?” when we received a fortune in business, a promotion, distinction in academics, or any positive turn of events? The credit for that is usually taken by us. But when there's a mishap or misfortune — a loss, an ailment, anything unpleasant — the immediate reaction is to question God, and to externalise it rather than take the responsibility ourselves.
Life is unpredictable — happy and sad, sunny and rainy
Things can change out of the blue when we least expect it. When it's favourable, we should enjoy it and not take it for granted. When bad things happen, we have to face them with strength and courage, handling whatever situation we find ourselves in — with a “never give up” mentality, since if there is a will, there is a way. Timing doesn't always happen on our own schedule; that's why patience is the key.
Have faith and belief in your relationship with God. Don't doubt His intentions — His meticulous plan of grace and abundance always prevails. Practise an attitude of gratitude daily — grateful to be alive, grateful for my breath, to begin with.
“This too shall pass” is true for the unpleasant things, just as it is true for the good things. We have to enjoy the gift of today, without worrying about all the things that “could” happen. Whatever happens, happens for good. For every door that closes, there's a multitude of windows that open — what we do with those opportunities is up to us.
“New beginnings are disguised as painful endings.” God is a good leveller. Find your Purpose of Life.
