Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Kanech marks the site where Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji arrived disguised as 'Uch Da Pir' carried on a Manji by Bhai Gani Khan and Bhai Nabi Khan.

Guru Gobind Singh had come from Machhiwara, and the villages in between, after escaping from the mughal's at Chamkaur.

Guru Gobind Singh rested here for some time during which a local farmer, named Fatta, offered his services.

Guru Gobind Singh recognized the farmer as he used to visit Anandpur on his horse. Guru Gobind Singh asked Fatta to lend him his horse with a promise that it would be returned later.

Fatta went home and brought an unbroken little mare (female horse). Guru Gobind Singh said the mare was not fit for purpose and asked for the larger horse. Fatta was surprised but lied and said that his horse has been taken away by his son-in-law. Guru Gobind Singh dismissed Fatta knowing he was lying.
