Gurudwara Sri Maaltekri Sahib stands on the Nanded–Akola road, just five km from Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib, marking a place visited by both Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Money had lain buried here since Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s time, and Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji had sent the fakir Lakkad Shah to watch over it, for which he received two mohars daily.

When Guru Gobind Singh Ji needed to pay his army, he had this treasure dug up and carried to the site now marked by Gurudwara Sri Sangat Sahib, where it was distributed among his own forces and Bahadur Shah’s army alike. The remaining money was buried back here, and Guru Sahib foretold that it would be dug up again only when the Khalsa numbered 96 crore, for a langar lasting two and a half days. The dargah of Lakkad Shah Fakir stands just behind the Gurudwara.
