Gurudwara Sri Nagina Ghaat Sahib stands on the bank of the River Godavari in Nanded. A devotee once came to Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s darshan and offered a nagina (pearl) as a gift; Guru Sahib tossed it into the river without a second glance, leaving the visitor hurt that his precious offering had been treated like an ordinary stone.
To dispel his confusion, Guru Sahib told him to go and retrieve his pearl from the river if it truly mattered so much. When the man waded in, he found the riverbed scattered with pearls on every side — and his pride in worldly possessions was humbled in an instant.
