Gurudwara Sri Chaki Sahib stands in the village of Tanda, near Kicha, part of the same sequence of miracles recounted in full at Gurudwara Sri Nanak Puri Sahib nearby. A merchant who had bought the child Guru Nanak Dev Ji, after seeing him touch a sheep to death and back to life again, set him next to grinding wheat on the household chaki (millstone).

However long the child Guru worked the mill, the ground wheat gathered no further than a bare handful, never increasing no matter how much was fed in. It was the merchant’s wife who first cried out that this was no ordinary child but the soul of a saint, and the merchant, recognising the truth in her words, fell at the child Guru’s feet and vowed to end the trade in human lives.
