Gurudwara Sri Ghat Sahib stands in the village of Tanda, near Kicha, at the riverbank (ghat) that forms part of the same sequence of miracles recounted in full at Gurudwara Sri Nanak Puri Sahib nearby. A merchant who had bought the child Guru Nanak Dev Ji sent him to fetch water from a well set purposely just out of reach, but Guru Sahib asked the well’s guardian spirit to withhold the water until his own word allowed it — and soon every well nearby ran dry.

Sent next to this riverbank, the child Guru found it dry as well. Only when the gathered Pathans, assembled in their mosque, agreed to give up trading in human lives for good did the wells and the river fill again in abundance. Witnessing the wonder, all present bowed before the child Guru and asked forgiveness.
