The samadhi of Mata Raj Kaur Ji in Manimajra, a place of deep devotion that Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself visited.

Gurudwara Sri Dehra Sahib Ji, Manimajra
Manimajra  ·  Chandigarh

Gurudwara Sri Dehra Sahib stands in Manimajra, Chandigarh, marking the place where Mata Raj Kaur Ji, wife of Ram Rai Ji, spent her final years and was cremated. Unable to accept her husband altering a verse of Gurbani to please Emperor Aurangzeb, Mata Raj Kaur Ji — a devoted follower of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the Guru Ghar — left Dehradun and settled in Manimajra, where she devoted herself to worship and gathered a following of her own.

When Guru Gobind Singh Ji passed through the region after the Battle of Bhangani, he came to Manimajra to see Mata Raj Kaur Ji and assured her that he would return whenever she called on him for service. After she passed away, her cremation was performed at this very site, and it is believed that sincere prayers offered here are answered.
