Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru, spent his final days in Nanded and passed away there in 1708. Before departing, he officially declared the Guru Granth Sahib as the Eternal Guru of the Sikhs
The sacred site includes the inner sanctum “Angitha Sahib”, built atop the spot where the Guru’s cremation took place
Originally built between 1832 and 1837 by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the structure reflects a blend of Sikh and Rajput architectural styles, with its golden domes and intricate decoration echoing the design of the Golden Temple in Amritsar
