Gurudwara Sri Handi Sahib
Danapur, Patna, Bihar
Danapur  ·  Patna City  ·  Bihar

Gurudwara Sri Handi Sahib stands in Danapur, about 20 km from Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib. As Guru Gobind Singh Ji set out for Punjab, many from the sangat followed him on his journey, and the people of Danapur gave him a warm welcome. An elderly woman served the entire sangat khichri from a single handi (cooking pot) and asked Guru Sahib to stay on a little longer.

Guru Sahib told her that for as long as khichri was cooked and served here to the sangat, his presence would be felt at that spot — and she continued the seva of serving khichri for the rest of her life. Guru Sahib was accompanied on this journey by Mata Gujri Ji and Mama Kirpal Das Ji.
