This Gurdwara stands five kilometres south-east of Barnala city in the village of Pharwahi, and is also known as Gurdwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji visited this place in 1665 during the journey through the Malwa region, arriving from the village of Kattu. Guru Sahib held diwan, performed kirtan and stayed here one night.

The next morning, as Guru Sahib prepared to leave, the villagers asked that one of the Sikhs be left behind to teach them Sikhi. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji answered that such a person would arise from the village itself. The sangat holds that this was Bhai Sobha Singh, who preached Sikhi here and built the Gurdwara in 1750.
