Bhadaur, in the Barnala district, holds three historic Gurdwaras. Gurdwara Sri Bairooni Sahib is the bairooni or outer shrine, standing beyond the old fort whose inner shrine is Gurdwara Sri Andruni Sahib.

Local tradition preserves the memory of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji having passed through Bhadaur, and Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji came here from Dina in December 1704, when the surrounding country was uninhabited jungle. For this reason the shrines of Bhadaur are dedicated to the sixth and the tenth Gurus together.

The Gurdwaras of Bhadaur were established after the town was founded by Baba Ala Singh, the eighteenth-century Sikh warrior and noble who built the fort here.
