Gurdwara Sri Jandsar Sahib stands at the village of Thuliwal in the Barnala district and commemorates the visit of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji during the ninth Guru’s travels through the Malwa region.
The name Jandsar joins jand, the hardy desert tree of this country, with sar, a pool — a naming repeated across Malwa wherever Guru Sahib halted beside water in the shade of such a tree. Several shrines of the region carry the name for that reason.
The detailed history of the shrine is recorded on the information board maintained at the Gurdwara.
