Gurdwara Sri Kailon Sahib stands at the village of Dhilwan in the Barnala district and commemorates the visit of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji during the ninth Guru’s travels through Malwa. A second historic shrine, Gurdwara Sri Patshahi Nauvin, stands in the same village.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji journeyed through this country holding diwan in village after village, and the shrines of the Barnala district mark the stages of those travels.
