Gurdwara Sri Gurusar Sahib Patshahi Nauvin
Kattu
Barnala  ·  Punjab

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji arrived at this place during the tour of the Malwa region. Travelling with Guru Sahib were Mata Nanaki Ji, Mata Gujari Ji, Mama Kirpal Chand, Bhai Gurbaksh, Bhai Mati Das and Bhai Sati Das — the same companions who would stand with the ninth Guru in the years that followed.

The village sangat and Bhai Dhana Jatt served Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with great respect and devotion, and invited Guru Sahib into the village. Bhai Dhana asked how a person may meet God, and Guru Sahib answered in the words remembered here still: Kahe re bin khojan jaee — why go searching outside, when the Divine is within.

From Kattu, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji went on to the village of Pharwahi.
