Gurudwara Sri Mata Sundari Ji
Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg  ·  Delhi

Gurudwara Sri Mata Sundari Ji stands on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg in Delhi, behind J.P. Narayan Hospital. When Guru Gobind Singh Ji moved on from Talwandi Sabo towards the Deccan, he asked Mata Sundari Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji to proceed to Delhi, where they first stayed at the haveli of Bhai Jawahar Singh near Turkman Gate before a separate haveli was built for them.

Here Mata Sundari Ji lived with her adopted son Ajit Singh after Guru Gobind Singh Ji left for his heavenly abode, and her word was held in the highest regard by the Panth. It was from this place that she appointed Bhai Mani Singh Ji as head Granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, and it was here too that Bhai Sihan Singh received and revised Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s writings from Bhai Mani Singh Ji. Mata Sundari Ji spent her final years at this site before her cremation at Gurudwara Sri Bala Sahib, alongside Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.
