Gurudwara Sri Majnu Ka Tilla Sahib
Outer Ring Road, banks of the Yamuna  ·  Delhi

Gurudwara Sri Majnu Ka Tilla Sahib stands on the outer ring road on the banks of the River Yamuna, north of Chandni Chowk in Delhi. A Muslim saint known as Majnu, beloved for his deep love of his fellow human beings, once lived at this spot. When Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited him here, his company so moved Majnu that he became a devoted disciple, and Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia would come to this place to discuss matters of faith with Guru Sahib.

Later, when Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji came to Delhi at the invitation of Emperor Jahangir, he too stayed at this site. After Guru Sahib was released from captivity in Gwalior Fort — having insisted on the release of the other imprisoned rajas as well — he stopped here again on his way back to Punjab, together with the rajas he had freed.
